Women should undergo general military training: State Chief Sherchan
KAPILVASTU: MARCH. 4 – Lumbini State Chief, Amik Sherchan, has stressed that women should undergo general military training for their defence.
He pointed out the need that women should be strong in self-defence. Addressing a state-level conference of Human Rights Defenders organised by the National Human Rights Commission at Butwal, State Chief Sherchan argued that the stateside also violates human rights.
He laid emphasis on the need of protecting the human rights of the marginalized communities including Dalit, Muslims and Madhesi as they are still compelled to live miserable life.
Similarly, a member of the Lumbini State Assembly, Phararuddhin Khan, shared that the state should address the problems faced by such communities due to poverty.
Human rights activists and journalists of 12 districts of the State are participating in the two-day conference.
