Ruling party decides to hold talks with UML to open parliamentary impediment
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 3 – The ruling coalition has decided to hold talks with the main opposition party, the CPN-UML, in order to resolve the parliamentary impasse.
According to Communications Minister and Congress leader Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, a meeting of the four parties affiliated with the ruling coalition held at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar on Thursday decided to hold discussions with the CPN-UML as the bill including citizenship was stalled due to the long stalemate in the parliament.
At the meeting, Karki also thanked the leaders for their support in getting the MCC agreement ratified by the parliament, Karki said. He informed that the meeting discussed about the regular activities of the government, preparations for the local elections and the regular work of the parliament.
He says an alliance is needed to bring political stability to the country.
Except for Rastriya Janamorcha, all of the ruling parties were present at the meeting.
