A phone call between Prime Minister Deuba & US Secretary of State
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 2 – Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken have held a telephone conversation. Foreign Minister Blinken had a telephone conversation with Deuba on Tuesday night, two days after the MCC was approved by the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament of Nepal.
During the phone call, they expressed their opposition to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as well as their willingness to collaborate on economic development and regional challenges. Blinken has informed about it through a tweet.
According to Blinken, the talks focused on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as well as Russia’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Blinken stated in a tweet that he would continue to collaborate on economic development and regional challenges.

On Feb 27, parliament approved $500 million for Nepal’s energy and road infrastructure. Following the approval, the US Embassy in Kathmandu stated that the MCC agreement was now being implemented.
