Crowd caused the wall of bridge in Pashupati to collapse, injuring one person

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 2 – One person was injured when the wall of a bridge over the Bagmati River at Pashupatinath Temple collapsed. Rajan Oli, 30, was injured when the bridge’s wall collapsed due to overcrowding.
According to Pashupati Development Fund Member Secretary Milan Kumar Thapa, Oli’s condition is normal. On Tuesday evening, on the occasion of Shivaratri, the wall of the Bagmati River bridge collapsed. Some devotees fell into the river after the wall collapsed.
Thapa, the Fund’s Member Secretary, informed that they had been rescued safely. He stated that the accident occurred because the very old bridge could not withstand the extreme pressure of the people.
