Suspicious object found in front of Parliament building

KATHMANDU: FEB. 28 – AA suspicious object was found in front of the Parliament building in Kathmandu’s New Baneshwor. The suspicious object was found some time ago, according to Central Superintendent of Nepal Police Senior Superintendent Bishnu Kumar KC.

He said a pressure cooker with the words “No MCC” was found wrapped in wire in the middle of the road directly in front of the parliament building. “Security has been beefed up in the area,” he said, adding that a Nepal Army bomb disposal team was arriving.

The MCC agreement was announced in response to the passage of the parliament on Sunday. In response to the MCC’s passage in parliament, six small communist organizations and two fronts have called for a strike.
