MCC to be discussed in HoR on Sunday

KATHMANDU: FEB. 26 -The US project MCC is scheduled to be tabled for discussion in the House of Representatives on Sunday, Feb 27.

According to the preliminary agenda released on Saturday by the Parliament Secretariat, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma will submit a proposal to discuss the agreement reached between the Government of Nepal and the US aid project MCC.

Previously, two meetings were rescheduled after the agenda was tabled. The government does not want to start discussions on the MCC as there is no consensus among the parties.

Sher Bahadur Deuba, President and Prime Minister of Nepal, has urged the ruling coalition parties as well as the main opposition party CPN-UML to pass the MCC. The parties, however, have not reached an agreement.
