Borussia Dortmund knocked out of the Europa League

KATHMANDU: FEB. 25 – German giants Borussia Dortmund have failed to reach the last 16 of the Europa League. Dortmund are out of the Europa League after losing to Scottish Club Rangers in a game on Thursday night.

In the second leg, Dortmund drew 2-2 with Rangers, but the first leg was crucial. Rangers made it to the pre-quarterfinals with a 6-4 victory. Dortmund lost the lead in the second half to level the game, even though they took a 2-1 lead in the first half.

James Tavernier gave the Rangers an early lead through a penalty. Despite taking the lead in the 22nd minute, Dortmund returned to the game. Jude Bellingham and Donyell Mallen scored to give the team the lead in the first half.

Bellingham equalized in the 31st minute when Malone took the lead in the 42nd minute. But in the 57th minute of the game, Tavernier scored the goal to level the Rangers. Earlier, Dortmund had lost 3-2 in the first leg. That defeat was enough for him to get out of the competition.
