Final tribute to artist Jayananda Lama (with video)

KATHMANDU: FEB. 24 – Jayananda Lama, a veteran folk singer and artist, has been remembered with a final tribute.

On Thursday, Lama’s body was laid to rest at Jamal’s National Dance Hall. Prem Ale, Minister of Culture and Tourism, senior artists, well-wishers, and family members paid tribute to Lama. Tourism Minister Ale recalled Lama’s role in introducing the country on this occasion.

On Wednesday morning, Lama was died after falling from a vehicle (while getting out of a vehicle) in front of his home in Kaushaltar, Bhaktapur.

Born in Dharpa, Sindhupalchok Barhabise Municipality-2, Lama has sung many original folk songs.
