KATHMANDU: FEB. 24 – Police have increased security in the Parliament House, New Baneshwor area, warning that fraternal organizations affiliated with various political parties may exacerbate the agitation today.
Police have been assigned to a large number from Min Bhawan to Maitighar to prevent the chaotic activities of demonstrators. The Metropolitan Police Office has dispatched over 2,400 police officers to Baneshwor.
The metropolitan police force has mobilized 1,200 police officers. Following today’s parliamentary debate on MCC, the ruling CPN-Maoist Center, Janamorcha, CPN-Unified Socialist Party, and other fraternal organizations have stated that they will intensify the agitation.
