Due to possibility of clashes, shops in Baneshwor area closed, security on high alert [Photos]
KATHMANDU: FEB. 24 – The US Assistance Project (MCC) is being discussed in Parliament today. According to the preliminary agenda prepared by the Secretariat of the Federal Parliament, the MCC will be submitted for general discussion in the House of Representatives meeting scheduled for 1 p.m. today.
Meanwhile, security has been increased in the Baneshwor area. The parliament building is fortified with barbed wire. A large number of security personnel have been mobilized to target the MCC protests.
The general public doing business in the Baneshwor area is also seen to be scared. Many shops are closed due to possible clashes between protesters and police. The Baneshwor area was tense on Sunday during the protest.
In that way, protesters threw stones at the police while police had a tear and the rubber shot.
