Nepal’s chances of competing in the World Cup in 2022 ended

KATHMANDU: FEB. 22 – Nepal’s chances of competing in the T20 Cricket World Cup have been snuffed out. Nepal’s chances have ended after losing to the UAE in the semi-finals. Nepal managed only 107 runs in the 19th over while chasing a 176-run target.
Despite chasing a big target, Nepal’s batsmen were unable to play freely, losing two wickets in the first over. Nepal’s chances were almost over after Gyanendra Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee were out for two consecutive balls in the 13th over. In the 16th over, Bibek Yadav and Sandeep Lamichhane were also out.
With the victory, UAE has been selected for the World Cup. Today’s game was very important for both the teams as both the teams reaching the final of the competition will be selected for the World Cup.
UAE won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 175 runs while losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Mohammad Wasim of the UAE scored 70 runs, while Aravind scored 46. Wasim scored 70 runs in 44 balls, including four fours and six sixes. In 23 balls, Aravind hit five fours and three sixes.
Jitendra Mukhiya and Abinash Bohara from Nepal each took three wickets, while Sandeep Lamichhane took one. In the 17th over, Abinash took 2-2, and in the 18th over, Jitendra took 2-2 wickets. Jitendra conceded 35 runs in three overs, while Abinash conceded 46 runs in four overs. Sandeep, who bowled four overs, conceded 24 runs.
Despite bowling four overs and conceding 30 runs, Kamal Singh Airee was unable to take the wicket. Dipendra Singh Airee bowled three overs for 18 runs, while Aarif Sheikh bowled two overs for 20 runs.
