SC refuses to register writ against MCC

KATHMANDU: FEB. 22 – The Supreme Court (SC) has refused to hear two writ petitions seeking parliamentary approval for the US project MCC.

Advocates Surendra Bhandari and Swagat Nepal have taken the writ petition to the SC saying that it is not necessary to get approval from the house as there is no MCC treaty. However, the Supreme Court refused to register these writs.

According to the SC administration, the issue has been raised in the parliament.
