Name of State 1 ‘Kirat-Limbuwan-Madhesh-Shepalung State’ Proposal – JSP
DAMAK: FEB. 22 – The JSP has made public the idea of naming State 1 as ‘Kirat-Limbuwan-Madhesh-Shepalung State’.
While the issue of naming State 1 has recently been discussed, JSP stated that the name should be ‘Kirat-Limbuwan-Madhesh-Shepalung State’ based on the original civilization, historical and political background, and identity.
The chairperson of JSP, Praveen Chamling, issued a statement today reminding everyone that the decision on the name of the state was made on Oct 9-10, 2020. It is stated that State 1’s naming should be based on identity.
“State 1 should be named ‘Kirat-Limbuwan-Madhesh-Shepalung State,'” the statement said, “addressing the demands of original civilization, historical political background, and identity.”
According to the press release, JSP has been under constant pressure from the streets and the parliament to build a fully federal Nepal and has even implemented it in Madhesh State, where his government is located. JSP welcomed and took seriously recent political developments, stating that the current debate and discussion on naming the state has resulted in political activism.
Today, the government of State 1 convened an all-party meeting to discuss the State’s naming. Leaders of state assembly parties and leaders of parliamentary parties are attending an all-party meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office in Biratnagar.
