Nepal-Pakistan friendly T20 cricket tournament to be held
KATHMANDU: FEB. 21 – The seventh edition of the Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 cricket tournament is set to begin on March 2 in Kathmandu.
In a press conference on Monday, the organizer, the Pakistan Embassy in Nepal, announced that the competition would take place from March 2 to 10.
The competition, which will be played on a league knockout basis, will feature 12 teams. The 12 participating teams have been divided into four groups, according to the embassy.
Various cricket clubs and academies will participate in the four groups. The winners of all four groups will advance to the semifinals.
Syed Haider Shah, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, stated at the press conference that the competition was organized to increase the youth’s interest in cricket and their passion for the game.
Similarly, Paras Khadka, former captain of the Nepal Cricket Team and founder of the Cricket Excellence Center, discussed Nepal’s support for Pakistan Cricket.
The Pakistan Embassy will face HK Cricket Club in the tournament’s opening match, which will be held at the Pakistan Embassy’s cricket ground in Dhumbarahi.
