KATHMANDU: FEB. 21 – According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, the western low-pressure system is currently influential in Nepal. A bulletin issued by the weather forecast department on Monday morning states that there is a possibility of thunder/lightning and rain in some places in the next three days.

On Monday afternoon, there will be partial to moderate cloud cover in the hilly areas of the country and partial cloud cover in the rest of the country. According to the Division, there is a possibility of light rain with thunder/lightning in some parts of the hilly terrain of the country.

Light snowfall is expected in some parts of the country’s high hills and mountains. The weather will be generally clear in the rest of the country with partial to moderate change in the hilly terrain of the country at night. There is a possibility of light snowfall in a few places in the high hilly and mountainous terrain of State 1, Bagmati State and Gandaki State.

The department has requested to take necessary precautions to avoid cold and light rain with thunder/lightning in some parts of the hilly terrain of the country as it will be cold in the morning and evening.

The weather will be generally clear in the rest of the country with partial to moderate cloud cover in the hilly areas of the country on Tuesday afternoon. The bulletin states that there is a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the high hills and mountains of the country. There is a possibility of light rain with thunder/lightning in some places of the hilly terrain of Far Western State and Karnali State at night. Light snowfall is expected in some parts of the country’s high hills and mountains.
