Agreement on alliance to be submitted to the MCC Parliament
KATHMANDU: FEB. 20 – The ruling coalition has agreed to present the MCC agreement to the parliaments. The ruling coalition has decided to table a proposal to ratify the MCC agreement in the House of Representatives.
A coalition meeting held on Sunday at the Prime Minister’s Baluwatar decided to submit to parliament a proposal for ratification of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement.
The US has been pressuring the House of Representatives to ratify the MCC agreement by Feb 28. It could not be tabled in parliament due to coalition disagreements.
However, a five-party coalition meeting on Sunday morning decided to table the proposal in the House of Representatives. However, leaders have yet to formally announce this. The meeting of the House of Representatives is being held on Sunday (today) at 1 pm.
