Ruling coalition meeting begins
KATHMANDU: FEB. 20 – The ruling coalition has begun a meeting to discuss the MCC. On Sunday morning, the meeting began at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.
Today’s meeting is expected to have a decisive discussion on MCC. Previously, the coalition discussed the same issue, but no agreement was reached.
The House of Representatives is meeting at 1 pm today. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is in favor of setting the MCC table in today’s representative meeting. The CPN-U, a component of the ruling coalition, has decided to allow the MCC to table in the parliament for discussion.
However, the CPN-Maoist center has not yet been clear on the issue. A meeting of the Parliamentary Working Committee and Advisory Committee is also being held here.
The agenda for today’s House of Representatives meeting will be determined by whether or not MCC is tabled at that meeting.
