Nepal in an effort to strengthen the semifinals with a wide victory over the Philippines

KATHMANDU: FEB. 19 – Today, Nepal competes against the Philippines in the global selection for the ICC T20 World Cup. Nepal will be looking for a run-rate win against the Philippines, which is regarded as the group’s weakest opponent.
Nepal will advance to the semifinals in one game ahead. Nepal, who arrived in Oman with the goal of qualifying for the World Cup, will face the Philippines at 11:45 a.m. at Al Amarat Cricket Ground. Nepal will attempt to set a record for the most international T20s when it competes against the Philippines for the first time.
Canada and Oman are also competing at 11:45. Nepal had shown confidence by defeating Oman in their first match. Even in the low score game, Nepal defeated Oman by 39 runs and strengthened the semi-final chances.
With two points, Nepal is second in the group. The Philippines lost the first game to Canada by a wide margin of 118 runs. Despite having the same two points, Canada leads the group due to its high net run rate. The Philippines were defeated by Canada in the first match.
Similarly, Nepal will play its third match against Canada on February 21. Following the conclusion of the group stage matches, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
The semi-final matches will be played on Feb 22. The final will be held on Feb 24. Both finalists will be selected for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia from Oct 16 to Nov 13.
