Protests by bar continue to call for Chief Justice JB Rana’s resignation
KATHMANDU: FEB. 15 – The Nepal Bar Association also protested on Tuesday, calling for the court to be cleansed and Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana to be removed. The bar, which had previously protested at the top premises, has been protesting in the bar’s premises since Tuesday.
According to the bar, the controversial Chief Justice was protesting with a black band demanding his resignation because he was unable to maintain the dignity of the judiciary.
The Bar’s Chairperson, Chandeshwor Shrestha, stated that he believed the impeachment motion would be discussed in the House of Representatives soon and that a solution would be found.
He stated that the bar has served as the judiciary’s guardian and that he will continue to work for the judiciary’s purification in the coming days. He stated that the judiciary should administer justice in an independent, fair, clean, and fearless manner.
