A fire at a shoe warehouse killed five people

KATHMANDU: FEB. 11 – A fire at a shoe and slipper warehouse in Tulsipur, Dang district, killed five people. On Thursday night, a fire broke out in a four-storey house of Iram Footwear Slipper Warehouse at 5 E Line of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitian, according to the District Police Office, Dang.

According to police, the fire killed four men and a girl (child). The deceased have yet to be identified. Area Police Office Tulsipur, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, locals, and fire brigades from Tulsipur and Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan areas put out the fire.

A police team on patrol at around 2.45 am on Friday saw the fire. Despite efforts to contain the fire, it was brought under control after about five hours, according to police.
