One killed, five injured in three-vehicle collision
BIRATNAGAR: FEB. 9 – One person has died in a road accident in Sunsari district. One person was killed and five others were injured in a Scorpio accident on the East-West Highway near Koshi Rural Municipality-6.
The deceased has been identified as Dilip Mandal, 50, of Kankalini Municipality-5, Hanuman Nagar, Saptari, according to the District Police Office, Sunsari. The injured have been identified as Laxman Safi, 60, Rajesh Mehta, 36, Ram Kumar Rajak, 44, Ram Kumari Devi Rajak, 48, and Umesh Kumar Safi, 50, of Kankalini Municipality-5.
The injured are being treated at the District Hospital in Inaruwa, Sunsari. A truck (Na 7 Kha 583) heading east to west collided with a parked Scorpio (State 1. 2-01-001ch 0031) heading west to east, causing an accident.
