KATHMANDU: FEB. 8 – The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is involved in internal discussions. RPP is undergoing internal discussions following the resignation of former chairperson Kamal Thapa. The meeting is unlikely to take place immediately, according to RPP spokesperson Mahan Shrestha, who says the party is currently involved in internal discussions.

After the defeat in the post of the chairperson from the unity convention of RPP held in Kathmandu, Thapa had been demanding an investigation to be done by the party saying that Nirmal Niwas is the cause of losing the election. Thapa had given an ultimatum to Chairperson Rajendra Lingden to address the demand by gathering leaders close to him in the valley on Monday.

However, Chairperson Lingden stated that there was no possibility of an investigation, he is said to have left the party. Thapa announced his departure from RPP at a press conference in Hetauda on Tuesday. He then announced his resignation from the party in a press release. RPP is having internal discussions in order to avoid any potential damage to the party.
