UML not to obstruct parliament sitting
KATHMANDU: FEB. 8 – The CPN-UML has decided not to obstruct the House of Representatives meeting. According to UML chief whip Bishal Bhattarai, the UML will not block the parliament from Wednesday.
“The UML will not obstruct tomorrow’s House of Representatives meeting,” Bhattarai said in a conversation with Makalu Khabar. Following a discussion among the leaders, it was decided not to obstruct the parliament. The demand for Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota’s resignation, as well as the actions of 14 MPs, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, will continue.
After the discussion of the leaders, it is said that the sit-in in the parliament will not be obstructed. ‘
UML has been obstructing 14 parliamentarians including Nepal from the first sitting of the 9th session saying that Speaker Sapkota did not take action. On Sunday, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had a discussion with UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and UCPN (Maoist) Central Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on the issue of removing the parliamentary obstruction.
However, during the three-party meeting, the UML insisted that action be taken against parliamentarians, including Madhav Kumar Nepal, or that the speaker resign.
