After undergoing treatment in Qatar, Samba is returning home today

KATHMANDU: FEB. 8 – Sabitra Bhandari ‘Samba,’ a member of the national women’s football team and an APF forward, is set to return home today after undergoing knee surgery and further treatment in Qatar.

On June 26, Samba, who was injured on the field during the game, flew to Qatar for treatment. On July 15, she had surgery on her right knee at the Aspetar Hospital in Doha, Qatar.

Samba said that everything seemed normal after the test on Sunday, and the doctor told her to go home. She stated that when she returned to Nepal, she would follow the doctor’s instructions, which included ground rehabilitation for a few weeks. She also expressed her optimism that she will be able to return to the field soon.

On February 15 of last year, she suffered an injury while playing in the National League. With 38 goals, Sabitra is the highest-scoring player from the national team. She has played for two clubs in the Indian League.
