Government’s decision to hold local elections on May 13

KATHMANDU: FEB. 7 – The government has decided to hold local elections on Baisakh 30, 2079 (13 May 2022).

The cabinet meeting set the date for local elections, according to a minister.

If it is to be done in the first phase, the Election Commission has recommended April 27; if it is to be done in the second phase, the Election Commission has recommended April 27 and May 5.

However, since the government has held local elections on May 13, will be 5 years the election has been announced on the same date.
