Meeting of Council of Ministers begun

KATHMANDU: FEB. 7 – A meeting of the Council of Ministers has begun at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

According to sources in Baluwatar, the meeting will set the date for local elections. The UML demanded that the local elections be held on time and that the government set a date for the elections at a meeting of the three parties held on Sunday.

The date of the election had been set for May 18 by the Election Commission. According to a source, the date proposed by the commission for holding the election on May 18 is about to be announced.
