KATHMANDU: FEB. 7 – Teaching begins with a physical presence at the Gokarneshwor Municipality of Kathmandu’s school. The municipality has made the decision to run both community and institutional schools within its municipality.

As the third wave of COVID-19 infections spreads rapidly, the government has decided to close all schools by the end of Magh, announcing a smart lockdown. However, on February 1, the Gokarneshwor Municipality’s Education Committee decided to run the school in accordance with health-security standards.

Despite the fact that the school has been open since Sunday, regular reading has begun as of today because Saraswati Puja is celebrated on Sunday. In comparison, CCMC has decided to reopen the school on February 13th.

According to Mayor Santosh Chalise, the decision was made to operate the school within the local government’s authority.

According to the municipality’s health department, the first dosage of Pfizer vaccine was given to students aged 12 to 17 years old at all of the municipality’s schools, and the second dose will be provided starting today.
