KATHMANDU: FEB. 7 – Today, the valley’s odd-even system has been removed. On Sunday, a joint meeting of the chief district officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur decided to abolish the odd-even system as of 12 midnight.

As the COVID-19 outbreak spread in Kathmandu, an odd-even system was implemented in vehicles and was made loose from Jan 28. But, there is still an odd-even system in taxis and private vehicles.

From February 13, educational activities such as schools, colleges, and tuition centers will be conducted. However, arrangements must be made to conduct classes in rotation or shift system in coordination with the local level for students who have not completed 12 years of age.

From the same day, night businesses such as restaurants, dance bars and other businesses have been able to operate following the standards of health security. By adopting health safety standards, night businesses such as dance bars, dohori, dance halls, lounges, pubs, clubs, cinema halls, health clubs, gyms, swimming pools, and futsal will be able to operate until 10 p.m. starting Feb 13.

It has been decided to make necessary arrangements for conducting the sports program in a manner that only 50 percent of the total spectator capacity can be present at a time in compliance with the public health standards and related international rules of the sport. Similarly, a maximum of 100 vaccinated people have been able to gather at the party palace since Monday.
