KATHMANDU: FEB. 6 – The COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CCMCC) has recommended that the school be opened from Feb 13th.

The government should open the school physically, according to a CCMCC meeting held on Sunday. Due to the third wave of COVID-19, schools have been closed since the first week of Magh (Jan/Feb).

In the first phase, it was decided to close the school till Magh 15 (Jan 29). On the recommendation of CCMCC, the government decided to close the school till the end of Magh.

Meanwhile, in defiance of the government’s decision, local levels across the country, including Gokarneshwor in Kathmandu, have decided to reopen schools. Stakeholders urged the government to reopen the school during a meeting at the Ministry of Education earlier.
