KATHMANDU: FEB. 6 – From Monday, the odd-even system imposed on vehicles in Kathmandu Valley will be removed.

The decision will be made during a meeting of the Chief District Officers of the Kathmandu Valley, which will take place after the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) meeting on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed that the odd-even system be removed from all three district administration offices in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur.

As the COVID-19 outbreak spread in Kathmandu, an odd-even system was implemented in vehicles.

An odd-even was removed after the administration was criticized for forcibly increasing the pressure on public transport.

The valley’s CDOs are convening a meeting today to discuss removing the odd-even system in private vehicles.
