Changes across the country: Rain and snow in these areas

KATHMANDU: FEB. 4 – The weather has changed across the country due to the influence of western winds. According to the Weather Forecast Division, it has been raining in most parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, while snow has fallen in the highlands.

Thunder and lightning were observed in the Far West, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati, and other eastern regions as the weather system’s effect changed from west to east. Snow has fallen in the high hills and mountains of those states.

There has been light snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous areas of State 1. It has been raining in the Kathmandu Valley since Thursday night, while light to moderate rain with thunderstorms has lashed most parts of the Terai.

This afternoon: There will be normal to complete cloud cover across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning/hail in many parts of the country. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places of Gandaki and Lumbini States. Light to moderate snowfall is expected in most parts of the high mountainous and mountainous regions of the country.

Night: There will be normal to complete cloud cover across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning/hail in some places of State 1, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki and light rain is also expected in some places of Far West, Karnali and Lumbini. Light to moderate snowfall is expected in some parts of the high hills and mountains of the country.

Afternoon: There will be partial to normal transfer in State 1, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki States of the country and there will be partial transfer in other States. There is a possibility of light rain in a few places of State 1, Madhesh State, Bagmati and Gandaki States and in one or two places of the hilly terrain of other States. Light snowfall is also expected in a few places in the high hills and mountains of the eastern and central parts of the country.
