BIRATNAGAR: FEB. 3 – Students in Biratnagar have displayed the Chief Minister with a black flag, indicating that the ministry is ready to split.

On Thursday, police and students from the ANNFSU-affiliated CPN-UML got into a scuffle.

The students had gathered at Biratnagar Airport Road to display Chief Minister Rai with the black flag after he landed in Biratnagar from Kathmandu.

Shortly after Chief Minister Rai arrived in Biratnagar, police used force on a student who attempted to display a black flag on his approach to the Chief Minister’s Office.

There was a scuffle between the students and the police during the process. Tulasi Ghimire, a student activist, claimed that while attempting to raise the black flag, the police mistreated student leaders, including ANNFSU Deputy Secretary-General Bhaskar Khanal.

There has been widespread criticism that the government is preparing to form 12 ministries in the state.
