UML to support NC if it brings impeachment against Speaker

KATHMANDU: FEB. 3 – Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, the secretary of the main opposition party CPN (UML) and a former Deputy Prime Minister has stated that the impeachment motion against Nepali Congress Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota will be supported.

Speaking in an interview organized by Reporters Club Nepal on Thursday, Rayamajhi said that they were in favor of removing the speaker. He did say, however, that they did not consider the impeachment of the speaker on their own.

In the approaching elections, Rayamajhi made it plain that his party will not form an alliance with anyone. In the election, he also stated that the UML did not require an alliance or a grand coalition.

He stated that the UML is moving forward with its agenda and that it would gain a majority and a glorious victory in the upcoming election from the center to the local level.

He also clarified that the party has yet to publish an official statement on the MCC aid agreement with the United States.

He further clarified that they were not attempting to disrupt the five-party alliance.
