Omicron sub-variant active in Nepal: WHO

KATHMANDU: FEB. 3 – Sub-variants of Omicron active in Nepal, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Sub-variants of Omicron have become active in 57 countries around the world including Nepal, according to the WHO.

Dr Boris Pavlin, a member of the WHO’s Covid response team, has reported that sub-variants of Omicron are becoming active.

He says the new co-species is similar to the initial Omicron variant BA.1.

According to reports, the number of people admitted to the hospital has remained constant. According to the WHO, the current vaccine is effective against Omicron and its sub-variants.
