KATHMANDU: FEB. 2 – A song became viral on social media a few days ago. People are still enjoying the choreography or dance done on the song, which has gone viral on social media and Instagram, despite the fact that the lyrics are not understood.

We’ve been searching for the answer to the question of where the song came from, who wrote it, who sang it, and in what language.

Where did the song ‘Kaccha Badam’ come from?

The song ‘Kaccha Badam’ is in Bengali. This is the brainchild of Bhuban Badyakar, an almond trader. Bhuban is an ordinary citizen of West Bengal, India’s Birbhum district. Bhuban, according to the song, sells Kaccha Badam (raw peanuts) from village to village for a living.

He sings this song and informs the villagers that he has brought peanuts when he sells peanuts in the village. His songs are influenced by the Bengali folk tune ‘Baul’. In exchange for peanuts, they even take homemade items, stolen items, etc. According to Bhuban, he sells 2-4 kg of peanuts a day.

How did ‘Kaccha Badam’ go viral on Instagram?

In November 2021, Bhuban’s song was first uploaded to the internet. “I had no idea this song had gone viral,” Bhuban adds.

He told the news agency India Today that a village had praised his song and even shot a video of it. He doesn’t remember the names of the people who made the video. As soon as the song went viral, musician Najmu Richat remixed it with a few changes. Someone choreographed the song after the remake. Then it became a ‘Kaccha Badam’ Instagram trend. The trend, which started on Instagram, has now gone viral on TikTok. The song is now popular in India, Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Bhuban is asking the police for help after the song went viral

Bhuban Badyakar is an ordinary person. He is unfamiliar with social media and the internet. His songs, on the other hand, have gone viral and are now a source of money for many YouTubers and social media users. However, he, the song’s originator, is virtually unknown.

He has filed a police complaint, requesting credit for the song. He also stated that he is entitled to Kaccha Badam’s earnings. “It’s important for people to realize that this song is mine,” he stated. ‘I want the government to provide me funds and provide me with a minimal standard of living.’
