Pioneer journalist Khadka dies

BAGLUNG: FEB. 2 – Pioneering journalist of the district Bidur Khadka has passed away. He was 80. Suffering from kidney disease, he died this morning while under treatment in Kathmandu, vice-chairperson of Punwar Khadka Society Baglung, Liladevi Khadka, said.

Khadka’s last rites would be performed in Baglung on Thursday. He leaves behind three sons.

A weekly vernacular newspaper by the name Dhaulashree was published from Baglung in 2028 BS under his initiation. He was its editor.

This newspaper was published as a daily paper in 2058 BS but folded up in 2063 BS. However, its online version was continued. Khadka also served as the Convenor of the then Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) Dhaulagiri Chapter.
