National Identity Card issued from local level [Photos]

KATHMANDU: FEB. 1 – At the local level, the government has begun distributing national identity cards. There used to be a large crowd of service seekers since identity cards were only distributed from the district administration office.

Clients who were forced to wait in line overnight are now freed from the hassle of having to make a national identity card. This service is currently available in 5 municipalities in the Kathmandu district, as well as 28 other municipalities around the country.

This service has been started in Kathmandu for permanent residents of the municipalities of Gokarneshwor, Kageshwari Manohara, Kirtipur, Chandragiri, and Nagarjun.

Similarly, the Ministry of Home Affairs is preparing to run the service in other municipalities as well.
