KATHMANDU: FEB. 1 – Today, the Nepali national football team faces Mauritius in its second friendly match. At 5.15 p.m., the match will take place at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor.

Coach Abdullah Al Mutairi has made two changes to the team that was previously named for today’s game. Manish Dangi and Darshan Gurung have taken the place of defender Ananta Tamang and midfielder Prashant Awasthi.

On Saturday, Nepal had defeated Mauritius 1-0 in the first match. Bimal Gharti Magar scored the game-winning goal for Nepal. Nepal will take the field with the goal of winning for the second time in a row after winning the first friendly match.

Coach Al Mutairi is confident that if Nepal wins for the second time in a row, their FIFA rating would improve. After winning the game, Mauritius intends to return. Due to a COVID-19 infection, Mauritius’ top four players were unable to play in the first game. They will, however, play today.

Toni Marie, Mauritius’ coach, has stated that playing four players will strengthen the team. In the FIFA rankings, Nepal is ranked 169th, while Mauritius is ranked 172nd.
