Odd-even system lifted on public transport in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: JAN. 29 – New COVID-19 prevention and control rules have been implemented in the Kathmandu Valley as of today. With effect from today, the three district administration offices in the Kathmandu Valley have issued new orders.

On public buses, microbuses, and tempo, the Valley CDO has removed the odd-even system. On Friday, a joint meeting of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur Chief District Officers decided to abolish the odd-even system enforced on public transportation (bus, microbus and tempo). The odd-even system is still in place in private vehicles (cars, motorcycles, and scooters) and public taxis.

Schools, universities, tuition centers, and other educational institutions will not be allowed to operate in physical presence until the end of Magh, according to the meeting.

Although it has been ordered to close all kinds of public places, gatherings, gatherings, fairs and other crowded places, in the case of pre-determined international level sports competitions, it can be conducted without spectators or with limited spectators.
