KATHMANDU: JAN. 28 – Former Chairperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa has said that holding elections by finding loopholes in the constitution would be unconstitutional.

Former chairperson Thapa has said that local level elections should not be postponed under any pretext. “The constitution provides for a three-tier government,” he said on social media on Friday.

The constitution does not envisage a government of any level without elected representatives. According to this belief, a new election law has been enacted before the end of the term.

It would be unconstitutional to hold an election under any pretext or to find a loophole in the constitution. ‘
