ITAHARI: JAN. 28 – A passenger bus collided with a tractor carrying sugarcane on the East-West Highway at Hariyon in Sarlahi, injuring two dozen people. Two of the injured are in critical condition.

On Thursday night, a bus (Lu 2 Kha 4757) heading from Bhairahawa to Biratnagar was involved in an accident. The bus collided with a tractor (Ja 2 Ta 781) parked at Sukhepakhari, Hariyon-9, according to the Area Police Office, Hariyon.

The bus is thought to have collided with the tractor due to dense fog and mist.

A man and a woman among the injured are in severe condition and have been referred to Birgunj for additional treatment, according to police.

The police have detained the bus driver and are questioning him. The tractor’s driver has yet to be recognized. More information regarding the incident are yet to come.
