Election to be held on time: Communications Minister Karki

KATHMANDU: JAN. 26 – Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki stated that the government is in charge of the periodic election, which will be held on time in accordance with the constitution.

Minister Karki stated that legal experts have suggested bringing uniformity by amending laws that are in conflict with the constitution, and that the government is discussing the issue and would make a decision in due time.

Minister Karki said the government was holding internal discussions on local elections during a regular press conference in Singha Durbar.

He also accused the main opposition party of confusing the people on the issue of politics for politics’ sake.
