Rural population of Nepal is less than 34%

KATHMANDU: JAN. 26 – Nepal’s urban population has surpassed 66%. The urban population has reached 66.08 per cent, according to preliminary figures released by the Central Statistics Office on Wednesday.

According to the report, Nepal’s rural population has now dropped to 33.92 per cent. According to the department, the population of 460 villages is considered rural, while the rest of the population is considered as urban.

The urban population was 17.07 per cent and the rural population was 82.93 per cent in the census of 2068 BS.

As the number of municipalities, sub-metropolitan and metropolitan has increased after the federalism, the population has also increased in urban areas.
