Bridegroom chariot crash kills two people and injures 16

KATHMANDU: JAN. 25 – At least two people have been killed after a chariot used by the bridegroom fell over deceased in Bara. On Monday night, a chariot hit them in Adarsha Kotwal Rural Municipality-3 of Bara district, injuring sixteen people.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Thapa, the deceased have been named as Shail Kumari Ram, 23, of Simraungadh Municipality-7, and Nilam Kumari Ram, 16, of Adarsha Kotwal-7.

Both died at Kalaiya Hospital while undergoing treatment. According to Thapa, the incident occurred when the bridegroom’s chariot became out of control. The injured have been sent to a local hospital for treatment.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Thapa was preparing to deport the bridegroom from the house of Siyaram Mahara of Adarsh Kotwal when the chariot accident took place. The bridegroom was getting ready to board the chariot.
