UML boycotts all-party meeting called by prime minister

KATHMANDU: JAN. 22 – The CPN-UML, the main opposition party, has decided not to attend Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s all-party meeting today. The UML has decided not to attend the Prime Minister’s all-party meeting to discuss the election.

The UML has not received any information on the all-party meeting, according to Bishnu Rijal, Deputy Chief of the UML Central Publicity Department. He also stated that the CPN-UML would not agree to any action that would postpone the forthcoming Jestha (May/June) local elections.

Prime Minister Deuba has called an all-party meeting at his official residence in Baluwatar for 9:30 am. According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting will discuss current issues including ending the stalemate in the parliament and local elections.
