Nepal’s daily COVID-19 cases shatter yet another record with 12,338 new cases

KATHMANDU: JAN. 20 – COVID-19 infection has been confirmed in another 12,338 people across the country in the previous 24 hours.

The COVID-19 test of 27,487 people confirmed infection in 10,502 people using the PCR method and 2286 people using the antigen method, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

In the last 24 hours, 4 people have died and 649 have recovered.

The overall number of COVID-19 infections in Nepal has now reached 995,888, owing to the addition of Thursday. At the same time, the number of deaths in Nepal has reached 11,632 and 818,809 people have been fully recovered from COVID-19.

There are currently 57,328 active infected people across the country, according to the ministry. There are 55,836 people in home isolation and 1,492 people in institutional isolation. 186 of the COVID-19 patients are in the ICU and 27 are on the ventilator.

Similarly, COVID-19 infection has been confirmed in 189 children under the age of 10, as well as 588 persons aged 11 to 20 years.

In the last 24 hours, another 234,214 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
