11,000 people received a booster dosage against COVID-19

More than 12.4 million people have taken both doses of the vaccine.

KATHMANDU: JAN. 20 – In Nepal, 11 thousand 247 persons received COVID-19 booster doses. Until Wednesday, 11,247 persons have received booster doses, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. Beginning on January 16, the government began providing booster dosages to those working on the front lines.

A booster dose is administered to a person who has had completed six months of COVID-19 vaccination. Since the start of the vaccine program, the government has vaccinated 28.5 million 10 thousand 116 persons.

More than 16 million of these people have taken the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination. According to the ministry, more than 12.4 million people have taken both doses of the vaccine.

According to the ministry, 52.8 percent of the whole population has received a single dose of vaccination and 41 percent has received a full dose.

Similarly, 80.5 percent of the target population over the age of 18 have received a single dose of the vaccine and 62.6 percent have received the full dose. Nepal has received 438,840 vaccinations through grants and purchases from various countries.
