Sacrifice Day being celebrated in Madhesh State today
JANAKPUR: JAN. 19 – Today, the Madhesh State government commemorates Madhesh Sacrifice Day with a special program.
The state government has been celebrating the day of death of Ramesh Mahato in Lahan of Siraha during the Madhesh movement as Madhesh Sacrifice Day.
On the occasion of Sacrifice Day this year, the Madhesh State government will organize a special program in Saptari district headquarters Rajbiraj. The program would be held in the afternoon, with Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut, state government ministers, state assembly members, and top leaders of various political parties in attendance.
Similarly, there is a program to provide financial assistance to those injured and disabled during the Madhesh movement, said Shailendra Prasad Sah, spokesperson of the state government. Chairperson of the JSP Upendra Yadav and other top leaders are scheduled to address the program.
On the occasion of Madhesh Sacrifice Day, the Madhesh state government has also given a public holiday today. The state government has given public leave on Tuesday on the occasion of Madhesh Sacrifice Day.
