Gandaki government raised vehicle fares
POKHARA: JAN. 18 – The state government of Gandaki has adjusted the vehicle fare. The government has made changes, claiming that there was an irregularity in the public transportation fare. According to the government, the fare for public buses and taxi has been raised by around 24 percent.
For fare adjustment, a special committee has been formed. Although the federal government has adjusted fare across the country, the state government has set new fare, claiming that the state has its own rights. ‘The union has adjusted the fare between one state and another. “Fares between one district and another within the state are the responsibility of the state,” said Transport Minister Kumar Khadka. It’s the same now. ‘
It is unknown when the new fare will be implemented. He stated that the fare will be fixed by a contract signed between the vehicle dealership and the ministry. The meeting on Monday decided to raise the fare based on the suggestion of the committee constituted following the cabinet meeting on Sept. 29.
Despite the fact that the federal government increased the fare by 28%, the state made a different decision. According to the new rates, fares have been increased by 23.51 percent for long-distance buses, 22.55 percent for city buses, 14.57 percent for trucks and 5.50 percent for jeeps. Taxi vary by kilometer. The fare has been adjusted to Rs 80 per kilometer within 15 kilometers and Rs 10 every 200 meters.
