Nepal records 10,258 COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: JAN. 18 – An additional 10,258 persons have been infected with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours across the country.

COVID-19 tests done on 22,828 persons confirmed the infection in 10,258 people, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

According to the government, this is the largest number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in Nepal in a single day.

During the same time period, 562 people were recovered and one died, according to the ministry. Simultaneously, the overall number of infected people has risen to 39,044.

About 25,000 people were infected in Valley

Around 25,000 people have been infected with COVID-19 in three districts of Kathmandu Valley. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 17,709 people are actively infected in Kathmandu, 2,396 in Bhaktapur and 4,471 in Lalitpur.

A total of 5,549 people were infected in the Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 4,004 people were infected in Kathmandu, 975 in Lalitpur and 570 in Bhaktapur on Tuesday.
